When I started 'Record Collection,' I had no idea that it would come out sounding the way that it did, and that's one of the best things about the creative process, taking turns with the things you didn't know. -Mark Ronson

Oh, I love this quote by Mark Ronson, and if you haven't listened to Record Collection, you need to ask Google to play asap. That album breaks away from the poppy norms of the same old same that overplayed in mainstream music and blasts into a whole new territory of fun. Ronson explains the mystery of a creative process pretty perfectly. That moment where the work expands on its own. It just flows.

Now that is my favorite part—the part where you get into the creative flow. This collection of images here was a different set than our 70s vibes. While it still had the baseline idea for the 70s inspired photoshoot, we were looking for. (The creative deck was sparked by watching the movie Love Witch and marrying that vibe with the iconic Bianca Jagger.) Our photographer, Sara Mally, found a location that props galore–a bonus for the day!

Overall, we always have a goal when doing independent shoots to maximize the location. This house allowed for flexibility and creative inspiration. We were able to channel the movie's psychedelic vibes with Jagger's confidence with here, but with this set of photos, we let the furnishings inspire the mood. Sara's got a fantastic eye for lighting and found the right touch to bring out the seductive mood. Our stylist, Jessica, brought her A-game with a long, vintage pattern silk robe. We layered the look to add more dimension.

The ambiance of the images exceeded our goals. That day we were able to go above and beyond. We were in our creative flow and loving every minute of it. Creative play allows for connection, expression, and, above all, fun. We were letting the mystery breathe the project into a whole new level.
