Make your selection from an Rolled Fashion, Sour T-iesel or a Stoney Negroni. Just don't be surprised when your bill comes, as these top strands are $20 a piece...no dime bags here!
Hold the bacon, did you say plant based brunch?
Why indeed I did...welcome to Gracias Madre an amazing restaurant located in West Hollywood that specializes in vegetarian cuisine – more specifically as they describe it: a plant-base restaurant located in West Hollywood. Fancy, huh? Well, newsflash: this place is full of flavor so let's get fancy! It's no wonder this restaurant is a hot spot for weekend brunch thanks to their perfect balance of organic, farm fresh, locally sourced food and cocktails galore.
Speaking of cocktails, my favorite part of any meal, Gracias Madre's cocktail menu is off the chain. After numerous visits, I've never been disappointed by the libations being served. The fresh ingredients, cocktail names and their attention to detail in stylizing make this my go-to with my favorite ladies. I have to admit that I haven't had all the beautiful boozy cocktails on their menu yet but so far my fave have to be the Michelada de la Madre. This refreshing beer cocktail features organic beer from Eel River California Blonde Ale, habanero bitters full of fuego and spice, worcestershire for that kick, lemon jalapeño basil ice to seal the deal. Solid win on that spicy lemon jalapeño ice, seriously.
As for the scene: Gracias Madre's outdoor courtyard is what LA dreams are made of: Spanish tiles, cozy chairs worth an extra chat with your gfs and a beautiful Virgin Mary overlooking the grounds. Journey inside for the bar that's out of this world. It's lined up with oodles of top shelf booze, lots of fresh fruits, herbs and juice.
Word to the wise: don't fill up on the guac because Gracias Madre's weekend brunch menu is insane, especially the Plantain French Toast (a serious MUST). Little story about those Plantain French Toast: the first couple of visits I didn't order the plantains because of fear that I'd fall asleep after first bite, as I normally do with regular French Toast. But since these are sans gluten, no worries abut food coma here. Luckily my good friend shared her plantain order with the table (one of the many reasons why I adore this woman) and the rest was history.
Lastly, it's important to note that they also have vegan sours. I haven't had one yet but it's on my must try list along with their $20 cocktail: Smoke Bob Square Pants. Need I say more?
