Let me start with the backstory of how my friendship began with KC. We met at Unique Camp last year and was the first person to greet Sam and I on the bus heading to Big Bear. You know, the one we almost missed thanks to LA traffic. KC immediately reduced our stress with a joke and smile. Since then I’ve worked with KC on multiple projects, shared many snap chats and can now call her one of my very good friends. She’s the best cheerleader to have on your side and one crafty lady that continues to inspire me every day. Enough of this sister talk, let’s get to the story behind the cocktail from Bourbon and Goose’s first Cocktail Curator:
What’s the story behind this crafty cocktail?
KC: The XXX Pineapple Express was created around a habanero pepper infused vodka I created. The vodka was infused for 6 months, soaking in all the habanero goodness. This drink is not tame at all, and the habanero vodka should be used as a bitter for people who just want a touch of heat. Make sure to try it in a small dose before mixing yourself a heaping cocktail The pineapple juice gives it it’s sweetness and also cuts the heat nicely.
Who would be your idea muse for this libation?
KC: I was thinking of the movie Pineapple Express when trying to wrap my mind around a cool name. Adding the triple X’s hopefully let’s you know what you are in for—a a real kick-in-the-pants spice wise.
What’s the perfect pairing for this afternoon delight?
KC: The perfect pairing would be a fresh ceviche or chips and guacamole.
Your ideal Happy Hour moment:
KC: My ideal Happy Hour moment is when I have completed a project and can go out in the afternoon to celebrate! Close runner up: The first cocktail on vacation.
