#HappyHourClub 17 / The LA RIVER (Blackberry + Sweet Plum Sangria)

I really wanted to create a cocktail after the Los Angeles River and after pondering for days about it, I realized a sangria would be the best fit. Behold a blackberry and sweet plum sangria I've dubbed: The LA RIVER. Ingredients

  • 1 750 ml bottle of white wine (I used a Pinot Grigio)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • juice from 1 lemon
  • 1 pint blackberries + 3 sweet plums
  • Mint
  • Splash of apple brandy

For this sangria, I chose blackberries and sweet plums because they were ripe and ready to go. A happy surprise as it completed the apple brand and pinot grigio quite nicely. Start with only a quarter cup of sugar if you prefer your drink tart. If you like it sweet add in more sugar to taste. I also like it with agave syrup instead of sugar.
