Quotable: Moonrise Kingdom

  Quote from Moonrise Kingdom

Today's quotable is in honor of the fabulous #foliophoto challenge happening this week on instagramcreated by two of my favorite ladies, Sandra Harris of Raincoast Creative Salon and Christie Jones of bedsidesign. They have put together a variety of creative prompts all inspired by Wes Anderson. Naturally, I'm totally into this and screamed in delight. Yes, I seriously did scream. What can I say? I'm a huge fan of anything Wes and foliophoto. Above all that, I love the community Sandra and Christie have created with this instagram challenge. It's the best way to meet instagramers and support each other while we exercise our creative musclesand boy I am! My typical scenery of DTLA and Atwater Village has been replaced with saguaro cactus and lots of sunshine as I'm currently in my hometown of Tucson, Arizona. While I'm exploring the Southwest in search of anything Rushmore or Margot Tenenbaum inspired, join in on the adventure. It isn't too late and I can guarantee it's a ton of fun.

But before I jump back into the land of instagram, I wanted to share why I selected this quote from Moonrise Kingdom. Well, isn't it obvious? This question is asked by by Sam—he's completely adorable and his name is Sam (yes, I'm totally being a girl right now). Secondly, this has been a year of declaration and really owning it so I thought it might be nice to pay it forward. Maybe someone else needs to ponder this exact question: What kind of bird are YOU? In other words, who are you? What do you represent? Are you happy? Well, I know who I am but if we're talking birds? I'd like to think I'd be something awesome that hasn't been discovered yetlike an eagle and phoenix hybrid. I love the idea of rising up from the ashes and being born ready for life's next adventure BUT I also dig an eagle because in salute to one of my favorite sayings: soar like a motherfucking eagle. It just has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? ;)
